Washer And Dryer To The Rescue...

I, literally, sat in front of this washing machine for the entire first load to see how it worked (Isaiah joined me). We, obviously, are easily entertained.

Well, admittedly, the hold up on the upstairs overhaul has been no washing machine or dryer hooked up. We packed so quickly that laundry was an after thought, and therefore we left a lot of dirty laundry in hampers to be washed when we arrived. However, once we arrived, our poor washing machine began to fall apart (literally), and our dryer (that was on its last leg) was a safety hazard too. So this left both large, mismatched, boxes sitting in our garage until we could decide what to do about them.

Anyway, I have had laundry piled up all over the place, and I have felt completely overwhelmed by it. So, after much discussion about what to do, we decided to buy a new set. When we began to shop for our set salesmen would lure us to the smaller dryers and washers that were on sale, but once we explained that we had five boys that loved the great outdoors, they would come to their senses, and show us the heavy duty models.

The strange thing was that the front loader washing machine is a 3.5cu.ft, and the dryer was 5 something or other. So the salesman disclosed that even though you could fit a king size comforter in the washer, you couldn't squeeze it into the same dryer. Well.....that would never do, didn't they know I don't have patience for two loads of drying from one load of washing. I DON'T THINK SO! Hence, we bought the largest regular dryer (7.0cu.ft.) and even though they don't look like the adorable bobsy twins that I had pictured in my dreams, it will get the job done.

Today was the day it was delivered. When the men from Lowes arrived to haul them up the stairs ,the glimmer in Den's eyes said it all. He was just thrilled that he wasn't the one doing the heaving and the hoeing to the second level. So we all got what we wanted. I, with my machines, that will be burning the midnight oil, and Den laying on the couch with a healthy back.

Who cares about matching if you can get that much laundry done in One load. And your laundry is upstairs too! The convenience is awesome. The Martin family is enjoying all the pictures and posts. It makes it easier to believe you really did move. I drive over to try your machines out myself if I could. lol

Congrats on the new washer and dryer. They make our lives so much more convenient when we can fill them full of jeans. And dry them in a hour and have 20 pairs of jeans clean. yeeeheehe I love it. I'm glad Den didn't have to hurt his back. He will be a much happier husband. lol

I love my front loader! I can do an entire weeks worth of my hubby's work clothes in one load! Yeah!

A hubby with a healthy back is a good thing, for sure.
