BuhBye Coffee!

So I have decided that coffee is a BAD thing for me. Besides my nosing itching, it was starting to make my feet hurt in the morning, and just not feel well. You see, I love coffee and chocolate mixed like as in mochas, etc. However, there comes a time when you start thinking that may be it's taking over, and if something is having that sort of adverse effect on you, you should give it up immediately.

Well the first day that I had no coffee brewing I didn't feel that much better, in fact I began to question whether or not the coffee was the real problem. Nonetheless, I decided to stick to my guns, besides my body wasn't craving it. Actually, that cup of joe sounded very unappealing.

The next day I itched from head to toe. You know how I said that when I drank too much coffee my nose would itch? Well once I started to cleanse myself of this black concoction my whole body began to react. I had little itchy moments on my stomach, face and just about everywhere that second day. It was uncomfortable, but it was good to come to terms with just how evil this drink has been on my body. Why is it so lethal for me? I have NO idea!

The third day I felt incredibly different! Still didn't feel 100%, but it's sad how that even though I know how vicious this drink is on my body I still contemplated having just one cup that day. That is when I realized that there was a definite addiction to the stuff, which made me even more compelled to just get rid of it, every black ounce.

So now I am drinking dandelion tea. Its not that great tasting....no....its awful! However, its really good about cleaning out your liver. Your liver is one of THE most important organs in your body and when you can keep that running tip top you can ward off a whole crew of yuckies! So my new red "KISS" cup will be full of healthy tea, instead of my java juice, and being 4 days into my cleansing I am feeling so much better!

I'm glad you are noticing a difference! I'll drink an extra cup of coffee in your honor.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. You've got a great looking cast and crew there. Your boys are gorgeous. (in a very manly kind of way)

Sorry the coffee has made you feel bad. You are doing so good about it. Is it all coffee or does decaf do the same thing to you? I dont want to temp you to try the unleaded kind, just wondering if you did before you went cold turkey! Good Luck! Dandelion tea...Yuck!

Hey girl...You know it makes me worry like crazy when your little adverse effect to coffee starts flaring up!! Seriously there must be a reason why it is so black..hence NOT GOOD FOR YOU!!!! However I now I also have some vices in my life that are probably contrary to sound health..aka Dr. Pepper..hehe. So glad you are feeling better and fight the java erge with every fiber of your being..or something like that..:-)

Good for you! Hard though, isn't it? I had a headache like you wouldn't beleive for several days. I think that it is more the creamer than the coffee for me, I have finally started allowing 1-2 cups a day BLACK. I do feel better than when I was full force and with the creamers. Willpower, you've got a lot. Just this morning I battled and overcame the burning desire for a mocha (save that for next "girls grocery night out" with Chantel). Have a good day. Gale

Good for you - I am a Dr. Pepper addict! I love the stuff and when I try to quit all sorts of bad things happen, so I just try to limit it to one a day, but when things get stressful - I tend to have more than one! I found your blog through My Splatter Painted Life - Lindsay designed my blog too! Can I just say GOD BLESS YOU RAISING 5 SONS - I know they are true joys to you daily! I have 2 kiddos, daughter 3 Karina & son Cade 8 months - Check out my blog if you want! Take Care and Good Luck with the coffee thing!

You're a brave and good woman. So sorry coffee gave you that type of reaction. It's good to kick the habit if it's so bad for you. I have cut down alot from daily to once or twice a week and have noticed quite the difference. I don't know if I could be brave enough to go cold turkey.

Have you tried mint tea? That's my favorite. It's really great smelling and taste really good.

Ohhhh Trina.. You know how I feel about my two largish cups per morning. I drink alot of water and milk while nursing, to water it down. However, the thought you went cold turkey makes me admire you so much. I just dont know if I didnt have that in the morning what other vice I would put in it's stead. Dr. Phil says, you must make a new habit in leiu of the old one you want to get rid of. So Dandelion tea is it??? You are a strong woman!

A powerful addiction this black stuff. Did you know that Trader Joes has a Decaf Chocolate Tea? I have had to check in to the "Maxwell House" on more than one occasion. *(Re-hab)*
I always go back, even when good friends escort me in with the concern for my horrible addiction. hehehe
Hang in there...there could be worse things to give up...flannel sheets, hot showers, hugs, or blogging!

Good for you for sticking to your committment. Stuff like that is soooo tough. And I agree...that tea is truly awful! Heheee! I'm glad you're feeling better even though you may be missing your sweet cup of joe. It'll be worth it I'm sure.
Hugs,
Lea
