Just Another Morning

Once we drag little bodies out of beds the day begins.

The house in the morning is such a busy time. A time where we all focus on getting Abram out the door and discussing the plan for the day. We normally grab a cup of coffee and discuss whatever comes to mind, whether it's science, relationships, or farming it brings in a lot of debates with everyone and it is enjoyable to hear the differing opinions, and everyone gets in on the action.

While Abram and Roman are eating a bowl of cereal at the bar River, Isaiah, Levi and myself are all sitting around the large dining room table (Boaz is still in baby sleepyland). Hair is sticking up, eyes are sleepy, and saracasm is flowing, it makes me smile to see and listen to my rousing boys. Roman, feeling the energy, hops down from his barstool to get himself dressed, which normally ends up in a pair of pants that look like capris, however they aren't capris at all....nope they are a pair of Bo's pants. How he manages to fit into them around the waist is beyond me, but he does, and they are glaringly wrong since the pant hem is just below his knees. But it's just another sign of a morning routine around here. We stopped worrying about his choices and allow him to feel victorious in his clothing selection until it is time for us to send him outside or to see the real world. Besides, give him another hour and he will have found a wrestling singlet to slip on or something or other anyways.

Once Abram is driven to school, the boys part ways in the house and the routine of chores begin. Having the spring light coming through the windows, rather than winter darkness is always a help in motivating everyone to get on the stick. Which brings me to my conclusion.....I have chores to do as well......

Dont you just want to snuggle up next the little ones when they sleep? I love watching my kids sleep. They look so sweet and peaceful.

Sounds so familiar for a morning. Roman and Heidi could compete with the clothes changing thing. Not worth the fight! Spring is a fantastic, optimistic time. I'm loving it.

What peaceful, happy mornings. Sounds like a great routine! And I agree that having the spring-light shining through the windows is way more motivating than winter darkness.

LOL Your description of Roman's attire cracked me up. It brought back such sweet memories of my little girl who loved wearing dresses but also loved climbing trees and rolling and running around with her brother that for modesty's sake we had to put pants on under her dresses. She'd cry on Sunday morning when it was time to put on "Just the Dress" I'm sure she felt like I was taking her to church half-dressed!
