This Ones For You Den

Another lovely mother and son conversation between Abram and myself.

Setting: In the car driving home.

Abram: Mom, Jarred says that this girl named Courtney has a crush on me.

Mom: Oh really?

Abram: Yeah, but I said IN YOUR DREAMS!

Mom: Why would you say that?

Abram: Because she is mean to me. She calls me retarded and stuff.

Mom: Ohhh...well then Jarred is probably right, because normally a girl is kind of mean to you when she likes you.

Abram: All girls?

Mom: Well it's more of a rule for little kids, but yeah you can sort of assume that a girl likes you if she is kind of mean to you.

Abram: Ohhhh...is that why you are mean to Dad sometimes?

Mom: I'm NOT mean to your Dad.

Den begged me to post this conversation, and since I am an angelic wife I decided to oblige....hehehe

Oh that is so funny!!! I guess Ryan and I REALLY love each other, because we can get mean also sometimes ;) I remember those young days when you tried your best to ignore the one you had a crush on, or in some cases, tease, put down, etc... Kids are so funny :)

Now that IS funny! From the mouths of babes. (I know that Abram would probably not appreciate being called a babe, but you know what I mean.)

Wow! The only thing that I can say is that I tease EVERYONE, and be mean to them so I sure hope that no-one thought that I liked them! Of course now I'm trying to start being nice all the time, instead of just sometimes. Lol. Hope it works.

I also tease and "put down" just about everybody! Of course, I recently found out about some guy thinking I had a crush on him when I was a little girl! I'm like "NO I DIDN'T!!!" So... maybe people don't think you have a crush on someone when you tease everybody the same way, right?!! I suppose it's nice to find out from your children that they think you're mean sometimes to your husband. Surely they think you're mean to them more often, right?! So what would that signify?

That is so good. Kids seem to have their own version of things, sometimes streched and other times way to close to the truth. Kids will tell things you don't want told.

Hi Trina...I've been catching up on your blog and I just read the blog about reaching 100,000 views and felt compelled to step out and say "howdy". I first discovered your blog a couple years ago on homeschoolblogger and then I changed computers, stopped reading blogs and totally forgot about the lady in WA with 5 boys. More recently I decided I wanted to blog (homeschoolblogger.com/mom244now) and thought I'd try to find your blog...it was tough...especially since you moved =) But I found a few good ones along the way and then one day I googled "my sons River and Roman" and voila...there you were, lol! It's funny that I could only remember those two boys names...love 'em all though! So anyway...I've enjoyed reading some of your posts, you have a very interesting family. Hope I can get my blog up and going and I hope it'll be half as interesting as yours. Maybe I'll 'fix it up pretty' too. But first I want to be sure I'm going to actually blog regularly, lol!
