God Fills In The Gaps

Life has been challenging lately. We have had so much sickness, and then River's accident that it seems like the trials have been pouring down rather than raining. However, I have to praise the Lord for the little things that He has been doing, even today.

River has caught a flu bug. He was been throwing up and he has a bad sore throat. I am sure that his body is just depleted from everything else. Nevertheless, this little assembly of ours has definitely seen healthier days, but I keep reminding myself that this is just a season that shall pass. Anyway, back to River.....he finally got a job around here, which is a blessing in of itself, but as soon as he got the job the second day of work he wasn't able to go because of his burn. So I called in to chat with the manager, whom was great about it, however she wasn't sure how long they would be willing to hold the position for him (after all he was new guy that had only worked one day for them). Well they held it open for him for two weeks, and then he was able to return. He returned to work only to get this flu bug the next day and he was so sick that he couldn't get from point A to point B in the house without throwing up. So, again, he had to call his employer. So you see he had only attended two days of work in the last three weeks; obviously NOT a great work record. When he called to tell them that he was going to come in but that he was very sick they told him not to worry, because for SOME ODD reason the other cook (who wasn't supposed to work) showed up and therefore they didn't need him. It was such a little miracle and such a wonderful relief.

So all that day River is in and out of sleep as the flu often does, and Den and I are praying that he makes a quick recovery because he has to go to work the next day. We, as parents, are beginning to worry that he is going to lose his job, as is River. Once he wakes up this morning he still looks like death warmed over. I am discouraged to see him still so ill. He doesn't know what to do because he hates to call them and explain it to them AGAIN. I call Den and we all pray about it, and then just wait to see what will happen. River begins to get around to go to work, and decides that they will have to tell him to go home instead of him not showing up. Just then the phone rings, it's his work. Nervously, he tells them that he still isn't well, but he plans to come in anyway. They report that they were calling to let him know that they couldn't use him today because of the snow; they just don't have any customers so far. He is relieved, and once again we stand amazed at God's great mercy. Both days that he was sick, and it looked like he wouldn't make it in God took care of it. God fills in the gaps so perfectly.

Its wonderful to hear how God is working these things out. Sorry to hear that River is sick. It is very comendable that he was willing to go into work even though he is not feeling well.

We are so thankful to hear of Gods mercy to your son. I've heard his name mention many times in prayer. That is so awesome about his job it can't help but remind me of the graciousness of my Daughters boss who kept her job for her 7 months until she could make it back to work( they all worked longer hours and filled in for her) Their walks in the Faith have just started but What testimony's our children already have of Gods goodness to them! We've sure all battled that flu bug here too. Pray for us, we'll keep praying for you.

What a blessing that although he has to be sick God is keeping his job for him. So important for a young man. A good thing to praise God for.

God really does fill in the gaps. That assembly sure has been seeing it's fair share of trials, the physical kind in particular. We got a bug going around up here, too. Some people are throwing up, some aren't. Deidra's the only one in our family who threw up (well, I threw up ONCE, but that was because I was coughing so hard that I threw up). Anyway, sore throat, headaches, fevers.... I'm glad River still has his job, though, and of course God will continue to work it out. And if he loses his job at this point, it will be pretty obvious that God wants it that way, because He's showed you that He CAN keep it intact. Makes me think of that song Nothing Can Touch Me That Doesn't Pass Through His Hand. I'm not sure if that's the actual name, or if only part of that is the name, or if it is a different line of the song.... okay, I'll stop chattering.
