Getting Close

Me at 38 weeks along.

Roman in my arms still asleep. He wondered downstairs after a deep nap. His head was still sweaty as he curled up in my lap. I held him, rocked him, patted him and savored my delicious toddler for a little longer, nevermind the baby within that was fighting for space on my lap too.

The last couple of nights have plain worn me out. It seems that my body is playing tricks on me, but I'm NOT laughing. I am feeling yucky throughout the night, and when I say yucky I mean cramping and such. I know that these are all good signs toward getting closer to birth, but by morning I can barely peel my eyelids apart. However, after a few hours of sunrise is under my belt, or I should say stretch paneled pants, I feel more normal again. Which I am thankful for, but on the otherhand frustrated by.

Last night was a wonderful reminder of what menstrual cramps feel like. I grinned and bore it all night long, but by the time Den awoke for work at 5am I gave myself a warm hot pad to ease the tension and tried to drift back to sleep.

It didn't help that Roman has been having his nighttime sleep issues again. He is bed hopping all night long, and I am willing to let him since I feel like I'm in prelabor mode at night. However, as the light of the hall beamed in on Den, Roman and myself I watched Roman dream. I thought about how quickly they grow up, and yet in other ways he is still a baby....my baby. I know that he will struggle with the sight and idea of a new little one at first, but later in life he will thank me for the close relationship he will have with his, 2 year younger, sibling. I watched his naked body twitch while in his diaper, and realized it won't be long before we are squeezing another diaper bound baby next to us. I am more and more ready everyday. After all, these preliminary labor pains are weakening my resolve to wait it out. Not that my resolve has anything to do with it.

I must say you look so good for being 38 weeks along. I am 11 weeks and way bigger than you. So sorry about the cramps, but the time is almost here. Can't wait to see a picture of the new bundle.

I'm so excited to see your new baby, almost as much as you are!!!

You look fantastic, and I know I've said that before. It's that pregnancy glow!!

Yep! It's gotta get miserable before it gets over. Sounds like your comin' along right on course. So sorry, but it has to happen. Which you know of course! Wish I could give you a bit of much needed rest and a moment without SOME kind of discomfort. Soooooon. You look great, amazing how a little one takes over a body.

So sorry you are at that uncomfrontable stage, but it is almost over! Roman probably will have a little adjusting to do, but once he starts to figure out that this is his future playmate it will be all good!!

You look great Trina, even though I know you don't feel great. I will be praying for you that you get a few nights of good rest before you have this little one.

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well but I'm sure it means you're almost there! You must be so excited! I was reading your poll. I'm suprised so many think you'll have a girl! I'm thinking it'll be another boy but wouldn't it be such a suprise if you were needing to go out and buy some girly things! Fun!

You really do look good for being as far along as you are :) I'm sorry about you not feeling good. I totally remember that feeling! Ugh! Blake went 2 weeks over and I was absolutely miserable! It will be over soon and you'll get to hold your sweet baby. Take care of yourself and I'm praying for ya :)

I just wanted to say that you look absolutely wonderful and I too look forward to seeing pictures of the new baby. I've been reading your blog for quite a while now (we were on PW together for our 2 year olds) and have enjoyed your writing very much. Good luck and prayers for an easy labor.

Trina you look fabulous darling!!! You look so little to be due. I could fit a dinner plate and glass on my belly when I was pregnant! NO JOKING!! Im sure it had something to do with the fact that the baby inside was over 10 pounds and 23 1/2 inches long! LOL

Everything that happens now is less you have to do later. I know things will go fine. God is so good and have proven to be so to you in the past. My prayers will be with you! Who knows you may come in the next couple of days and then I could stop by to see the bundle when I come for Bro. Eric's funeral. Hmmm... Not going to hold my breath though. Muah!!!
