Sweep Me Off My Feet, Homeschool Convention!

This weekend is our annual homeschool convention. I am so ready! I need this convention! I really really do!

Since we have moved I feel like I'm off my groove. We are managing fine, but I don't feel as totally content, or like things are running like a well tuned engine (to be honest, the well tuned engine feeling has always been fleeting, but it waxed poetic for this post). Anyway, this convention offers free classes for different curriculums and teaching styles. I will be going with some friends (Chantel), whom I will meet there, and so it's going to be a great time to steal some girl time (carmel mocha in hand) too.

Normally, Den goes, but I fear I have lost him to the couch (or the tv). He is tired, and is working so feverishly, at work, to maintain our lavish lifestyle (my Starbucks addiction) that I can't bear to ask him to attend (he already said no)this time. Although I will miss him dearly, for his insight on raising boys, and what they need to learn is priceless. However, this year I have what I want down to a science (did I spell that right?), pretty much, and I will be going mostly to attend the encouraging (heard it all before, but can't hurt to hear it again) seminars.

I hope to come back a new and rejuvenated homeschool mama! Ohhhhh please let her be inside of me somewhere, for this lazy, homeschooling, wants to go to the park to play, mama is getting on my last nerve!

Cheryl: I hope so, no Im counting on it!

Gale: Well maybe your inner zealous homeschool mama can meet mine there too! hehehe

Michelle: Yeah, why do they plan something like that on a huge family holiday weekend? So sorry you haven't got to attend one yet. They are worth it!

Us classroom teachers get that way too! Sometimes you just gotta recharge those batteries...a good seminar/class/experience will do that ~ good luck!

Lori: I bet you can totally relate! Working in that environment makes that feeling crystal clear...lol

I'll probably be going to the homeschool convention this year, too. Since I will be helping Mom teach next year, we thought we'd go together. See you there!

Neena: That is so great that you are going to help your mom out next year. That is seriously very neat! So I will see you there!

I am sure you'll come back feeling rejuvenated and reading to homeschool like never before! Getting together with a group of likeminded people seems to have that kind of effect!
