My Cajun Goodie Basket

This is what I received in the mail last week. It was a Cajun gift basket from my friend Tiany. She has an awesome blog about raising four sons, serving the Lord, and homeschooling. Go read her blog and be prepared to be inspired!

A while ago she was trying to figure out a name for her fourth son that was on the way. So she held a contest and I won! Little Noah! I love that name, and we even considered it for one of our sons, but finding a name that everyone in the house agreed on, was more exhausting than once thought. There are so many opinions in our house. It used to be so simple. I would choose a name and Den would have to agree. Well, that's not true. I would run it by family members, and some close friends too, but now my own children will disagree.....hehehe

So, when this basket arrived it gathered quite a crowd. It was full of creole and Cajun goodies. The one who really ran with it was Den. He was ready to race down to the grocery store and buy some shrimp for some jambalaya. So we did. To be honest, the basket is very empty now. The only thing remaining is some of the cajun seasoning and fish coating , however that is only a matter of time before it's all gone too.

I was going to post pictures of me preparing a beautiful Cajun meal, but that was just a pipe dream, like so many others....lol. I guess I could have taken pictures of shrimp tails sticking out of everyone's mouths, but that too would have been a photo blur!

However, thank you Tiany for thinking of us. I know how crazy busy you are with those four gorgeous boys.

P.S. If you switch to Blogger or Typepad please let me know.

What a great gift to receive Trina. Creole Cajun would be a big hit with Den.lol And I also love the name Noah for a boy.

Blog friends is something new to this family, but it so interesting to see this new way to make friends online.

Yummy! I don't think the kids would do well with the spices though. We are trying to make some of our meals a little more ethnic lately. Trying different countries etc. Tonight we are doing tamales again. (homemade, which means work)

That was a creative idea...the basket and the baby name game! I also like the name Noah, but my favorites all have a theme...T.

Tanner, Tucker, Tate...and absolutely no girl names in the bunch. Being such a girly girl myself (and not doing well with bugs and the such) I'll probably end up with my own little brood of boys.

Oh, but Trina...you make it seem so easy! :)

Wow! What a great gift! I love the name Noah too and almost named our last baby with that name, but we settled on Nicholas since he was born 2 days before x'mas. Have a great weekend!

Awesome gift!! Hey Trina! I *LOVE* coming to your little home on the web. You are such a beautiful person. I know that we are just distant friends in this blogsphere but I know that God has placed you in my life for His wonderful purposes. Thank you for sharing your heart... I am so grateful.

I know this is coming out of no where but I just had to express to yu how I feel before I forgot again. I can not tell you how many times you have spoken directly to my heart!

My husband would be as happy as Den was I think! LOL. I haven't had much Cajun food so I don't know how I feel about it... except I know (cover your ears you fish lovers) that I dislike anything that once swam... except of course for tuna. LOL!

Hey, I thought your readers might be excited about a blog giveaway I am doing in the next week. I'm trying to spread the word to all my blog buddies so lots of people can play!

See what I'm talking about here
