My List of a Few Favorite Things About Being a Mama

My list of a few favorite things about being a Mama

1.) When you press your lips into your babies cheeks and they sink deep into their baby fat. (mmmm delicious)
2.) The baby is nursing, and all of a sudden he stops sucking, only to give you a smile of recognition. (almost like a wink)
3.) Buying minitature clothes, and wiggling them onto their squirmy little bodies. (This can be quite a workout)
4.) Listening to your toddler giggle when you are playing "tickle fight". (or when they cram their little hands under your neck.)
5.) Overhearing one child tell a younger sibling that they love them to the moon and back, just like you've told them a thousand times. (Love is contagious.)
6.) Hiding behind a couch waiting to be discovered in a game of hide and seek, and hearing their heavy breath of anticipation. ( They know you are going to yell "Boo" at any moment.)
7.) Watching your teenage son shake someone's hand while looking them square in the eye, because you have instilled confidence in them. (That's when you realize they're becoming the men you hoped them to be.)
8.) Watching your kids in the rearview mirror of the car and wondering what they are thinking about as they look out the window. (What are they daydreaming about today?)
9.) Having them understand your humor and laughing just as heartily at the joke as you did. ( Sometimes they tell even funnier ones then you.)
10.) When your toddler tells you, "You are the BEST MAMA he has EVER had." ( You never question whether he understands what he just said...)
11.) Hearing yourself say the same ridiculous things to your kids that your parents said to you. (Mom, where are we going? Craaazy, want to come?)
I love being a Mama, even on my worst day.
It is truly the wisest gift God EVER gave me!
Thanks God, you knew exactly what I needed!

It is funny how little things get passed down from generation to generation. Like #10 I used to ask my mom where we were going and she would say the same thing CRAZY..wanna come :-)

Amen to that!

Those are great! I especially loved the "best mom I ever had" one. I always answer my kids with, "I s'pose that has nothing to do with the fact that I'm the ONLY mom you ever had?" ;-)
