Waking With The Dawn

I had set my alarm for 6:30am this morning because waking up at 6:45am didn't give me and Abram enough time without racing out the door in the mornings. You see he has to be at the bus stop at 7:18am. However, I didn't have to wait for my alarm to blare that annoying "beep beep" because Boaz was rip roaring ready to go. Den gets up at 5am and in doing so lets Boaz know that it will be his last time to see his Big Daddy all day. Normally, Den transfers him from the crib to my bed and tubby little Bo lazily closes his eyes and drifts back to sleep, while I gently rub his thunderous thighs. However, this morning he wanted nothing to do with slumber. He began to jibber (which is his new thing this week), he is quite eloquent at repeating, "Ga Ga Ge Ga". As I clicked on my lamp, and put on cartoons, Den came bounding back up the stairs with a naked Roman. Roman had taken his pull-up off and was already headed up to the second level to discover what the commotion was all about, so I moved over and placed him on the pillow beside me.

It all sounds pleasant enough but along with his drowsy demeanor came an ugly cough that caused him to throw up on my white goose down comforter. So up I jumped to clean up that mess and thought, "Uh Oh we may be in for a long day."

Time flew by and pretty soon it was time to wake up Abram. His room was extra chilly this morning and so I knew that it may be more difficult to pry him from his warm bed. However, he bounced up and got dressed rather quickly. I woke Isaiah up and asked him to climb into my bed with the babies, and off I went to make a sandwich (the same one I have been making all week for Abram, at his request).

So here I sit, at the computer, listening to the sound of the vacuum whirring downstairs, and thinking about how much we will (or won't) get done today with a cranky sickly two year old. However, I must admit that it still feels like a good morning. There is nothing like flannel pajama pants, Den's sweatshirt and a warm cup of coffee in my favorite striped cup to rev up my morning. I sure hope that you are counting your blessings this fine day too.

I hope school gets better for him. My 5 year old started kindergarten this year. We had a rough day, but he came home smiling. And know he enjoys it. I will keep you in my prayers about it.

It's good to see you blogging again. Even though I see you fairly often; I still enjoy your reading your blog.

I hope that things work out for Abram at school. Does he get to see Mary's son #2 at recess or anything? So far Christian seems to be doing pretty good. I was a little nervous about him having to start at a new school, but he seems to be doing ok. I still haven't met his teacher.

Oh, I really like the sound of flannel PJ's and a sweatshirt! It's not cool enough here yet.

Hope Abram had a better day today!

Hi Trina! I hope Roman is feeling better...and that it doesn't make its way to the rest of you! Your little Abram sounds like a trooper. I hope that his year in public school is a good experience for him. I think that it's a great thing letting the kids try public school for atleast a year. Our schools around here are so bad though, that I wouldn't dare try. Maybe we will try it out, if and when we move to a smaller school system.

Your little Bo is adorable!

Mornings are somewhat a crazy time for me. LOL, I remember those mornings when Blake would take off his pull up (years ago) and be streakin' around. This brought that memory back to me, LOL. It is good to see posts coming from you again :D
