Not Here, Not Now!

What happens when you take little ones to Ikea? Well, anything can happen, that's the whole point I guess.

We decided to take our entire family to Ikea last Saturday. We weren't there to just browse, no we were actually going out of necessity which is why it wasn't the BEST idea to take the entire crew. If any of you have been to Ikea, especially on a Saturday, then you know what I mean when I say it was packed like sardines.

Den dropped us all off at the door. It wasn't a quick drop off with all the kids to pull out of carseats, a baby carseat to grab, and the "don't go anywhere without it" diaper bag. Once inside we grabbed a couple of baskets to push around with Roman in one and Boaz in the other. However, Boaz's carseat rocked back and forth while we pushed the basket around all the corners and pretty soon he was cartsick and he threw up. Poor baby! It was one way to kick off the shopping experience.....lol

Now to our two year old. We had finally arrived at the bed section. The beds were all made up cozily in this area, and we had found a daybed that we were drooling over when I turned to see that Roman wasn't right beside us anymore. I announced to the family, "Roman is gone!" Everyone stopped what they were looking at and began to scan the large warehouse, but, thankfully, in the next bed over was our little prince. You see, he had found a bed that was quite appealing to him and so he stripped off his socks, shoes, shirt, and jacket and had climbed under the blankets and was laying on the pillow with his bare chest exposed. He was drowsily laying there with one arm behind his head and his eyes closed. I laughed and so did Den. As people walked by they giggled to see all his miniature clothes piled on the floor, and his sleepy body tucked in half naked. I persuaded him to rise, and explained that although there were beds EVERYWHERE this wasn't where we were going to actually nap. He smiled agreeably and we began to put his clothes back on his chubby body parts. As we continued to redress him the families that walked by found a great deal of humor in it. This is when I wished that I had my camera, because only a two year old has the innocence to do such a thing and get away with it.

Needless to say, we got through the Ikea experience with a few more hiccups and left with our goodies in hand. We got quite a few things on our list, but I must say that when we have to make our second run it will be with only one little boy in tow.....Boaz.

Oh that is funny! Do you know how many times I've wanted to do that same exact thing? HEHE, except for the stripping of clothes part ;) That was SO cute! I'm glad you wrote it down, so that in about 11 years you can show him this story.

How Sweet!! Its funny how people will giggle and smile at little kids doing those things, but I don't think they would find much humor in it if I were the one stripping down and climbing in the cozy, made-up bed at IKEA!

I love all the little kid stories! They are so funny. It is nice that your toddler likes to put his pajamas back on in the middle of the day too. I always love it when someone comes over and it looks like I never dress my kids or comb their hair. At least a little boy can't pull all of the hair ties out all of the time!

Sometimes kids do the funniest things. I so wish you would of had your camera to capture that priceless moment.

Oh my goodness-I've got to link to your post! I've taken my boys to ikea before. They feel right at home there...aka-I've had a few moments similar to that which you found yourself in with Roman. So cute.

Sounds like Roman had a great time! I'm sure you'll be taking advantage of Ikea with the new home coming up. Have fun shopping!

That is too funny! Nothing like making yourself to home at IKEA. That is so cute. I love the pictures of the baby, and Roman in Boaz's shirt. He is such a funny little boy.
