A Little Keepsake

Well I did it! I am always saying that I am gonna do one of the hand casts for my new baby, or something along those lines, and eventually I forget about it. However, this time I got it accomplished. I am as pleased as punch with myself. I bought this little set that involves an ink pad and nothing more. It couldn't get any easier and easy was exactly what I was looking for.

Here are the little prints of his hand and his foot. The foot one was pretty simple, but his hand one was a fight. He didn't want to unclench his fist. So we had to struggle to get his tiny chubby hand pried open for the ink pad, and then we had to work another miracle to get it on the actual keepsake card. Oh boy! It isn't perfect but we thought the imperfection was a more interesting story anyway. When we put his tiny foot on the baby blue ink pad he wailed like we had just stuck him with a pin. Den and I giggled sympathetically. We felt bad, but knowing it was only the sudden coldness that was making him protest so much we pushed on. After the prints were both taken I had to nurse him back to calmness. Who would have thought that something so minor would be so earth shattering to our eleven day old....hehehe

Well I am gonna wrap this post up in an all fire hurry because Mr. Boaz is needing Mama............

That's nice to have. I remember noticing how Grandpa had "the boys'" (U. Lloyd's boys) handprints in some kind of cement type stuff. I know it wasn't cement, but I don't know what it is called.

I love those! We did the plaster ones here with the seven kids last week. What.a.disaster. The end products are cute, but I'm still scraping plaster from my floor, cabinet, countertop, wall, chair, table.......

Next year, ink.

Too Cute! I wish I had done one with Wyatt. Never know what those little newborns are thinking when they get upset. LoL

I did at least one of my kids; I think it was Christian. I remember trying to get the hand done right. I don't think mine turned out as well as yours!
