Toddler In Progress!

Okay, so I have some work to do with my 5th son....Mr. Roman, who just turned 4.

While purchasing some preschool books from Abeka, for my toddler, I had a moment of sitting on the couch with him. I had been deliberating in my mind what subjects to cover, one of them being basic bible stories and saw a perfect opportunity to engage the little lad in an impromptu chat about God. Here is how it went:

Mom: Roman do you pray?

Roman: (deep voice for a toddler) What?

Mom: Do you talk to God?

Roman: You have to help me.

Mom: Do you know where God lives?

Roman: Ummm....in a hotel.

Mom: (surprised smile) No. He lives in Heaven.

Roman: Where's that?

Mom: (Puzzled at how to respond) Well he sort of lives in the clouds.

Roman: (Very excited and surprised at this information) How does He get down?

Mom: He is very powerful.

Roman: (not satisfied with that response) How does He get down, Mom?

Mom: He can do anything.

Roman: Pausing

Mom: Pausing more out of being stumped on how to explain it better to my very literal toddler.

Mom: So do you know where Heaven is?

Roman: It's right by the hotel! Now can I have some pop?

Mom: Yep! (Whew....we have some work to do!!)
