One By One

How thankful I am for conversations. It is surprising and refreshing to know that son number 3 is interested in the Lord, ever bit as much as the first 2. No big surprise really, but as a mother I worry. Today was a comfort to know that he is asking all the right questions about the Lord too. We chatted about all sorts of spiritual things and at the end of it I felt a little weathered. More surprising he didn't seem all that weathered at all. Most boys have a vocabulary of about 500 words a day...hehehe, and in that conversation alone we exceeded it, I'm sure.

I also expressed to him that I hoped that if something were ever to happen to me that I hoped and prayed that the very same conversations would take place with the younger boys. That everything he learned would need to be handed down to them as well. He smiled and reassured me....:)

So as the day begins to come to a close and Den is about to walk in the door after a long hard day I quietly consider motherhood. I prayed at the end of my conversation with Levi that I was able to reach his heart. I prayed that the Lord would give me wisdom in those types of conversations and thanked Him for the heart that I see Levi has. As the Lord draws my boys in the faith one by one I feel deeply thankful. What a peace to see the Lord being mindful of each one.

Totally get that.Having two in the faith and two on the out side...Theres comfort in the half way there but theres fear in the odds and wondering have I gotten lazy in all the little things...A mothers job is never done and theres no getting lazy when their souls are at stake.

I am sure it is a great comfort to see them grow spiritualy. My kids are still young. I love to look over at them in church and see how they are paying attention. I pray that they continue to seek after God.

You have such a big hand in that because of the spiritual household you are raising them in. They are so fortunate to know God at such an early age!! And, to have parents who teach them about faith, God and the Bible. Too many don't get that!!

I'm so thankful the Lord gave you a quiet moment together to hear what God is working in your Sons heart. What a comfort. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding! I'm happy to share that my Son Bro. Branden asked a sweet Sister over Christmas to be his wife as well and that I'm praying right there with you to know how to be a good Mother-in-Law. On to the next phase of our lives :)

Hi, Trina! I found your blog awhile ago when researching homeschooling. I think at the time I only had 1 little boy, and now I have 3! It's been so fun for me to read through your posts and get a feel for raising boys. I hope I can do it with the grace, patience, and most importantly, JOY! that you seem to present here.
