It Just Feels Right

What makes me love our little assembly? It's easy really; the love we have for each other. We had a good little meeting. The church house was full, only one bench remained personless. The singing was really nice and participation was high. Yeah I was a little sad to think about it being Bro. Lee and Sis. Cherrie's last meeting with us, but the Lord was good with his spirit.

After meeting we were all to gather at Bro. Matt and Sis. Tisha's for a hamburger/hotdog feed, and then we were going to have a send off singing for Bro. Lee and Sis. Cherrie. Other brethren had popped in from other assemblies and that was very comforting. It was a good day, and there was something in the air. As I sat on the couch next to Den I could see all the kids playing together, coming and going. Sometimes two would be paired off together and the next there would be a small herd of toddlers bonding. Teens were sitting next to each other smiling and chatting. Bro. Sean would pick up Boaz and just walk around holding him, which absolutely melted my heart. Bro. Rusty was complimenting Bro. Matt on something as I squeezed past them with my cup of coffee in hand. Den was visiting with Bro. Dean, and the older brother was sharing encouraging stories from his past. One sister was working on the quilt that all the different assemblies have put together for the Oregon campout raffle, and others were in the kitchen making sure the cookies and cobbler didn't burn. It was a well oiled machine with everyone feeling like a family; with plenty of love to go around. It felt really good, it felt right and I went home feeling quite content with our little life here.

That is the way it ought to be. Mom and Dad had lots of stories to tell of the beginning there the first time. Sounds like a lot the same oneness. What a beautiful thing to be a part of. So nice to get visitors every once in a while. It is still sad to think of Lee and Sherry going back....not enough time!

Hope this isn't rude, but i was wondering why Bro.Lee and Sis.Charrie are leaving? That is hard for me to believe that they are leaving after such a short time of living there =(

Sis. Gale: That brings such comfort to hear. I know that our church, back then, had such beauty and love. I hope to see God work the same kind of thing again, here.

Sis. Tiffany: I don't think that is a rude question at all. It is a question that is probably better suited to ask them personally, though. I guess I would just say that they have prayed about it and feel like their work is back in Oklahoma. We are all very sad to see them go so soon too, but we hope and pray for the very best for them. They will be missed!!

That is a great feeling when you feel like things are "just right" with your assembly and your life. I honestly haven't felt that way yet. I hope that we will feel "at home" and "just right" somewhere. I bet it is a very comforting feeling :)

That is exactly what I love about John 3:16 ministries - the love, acceptance and warmth...like you are a big family. It's a good feeling! :-)

You're gathering sounds sounds like our Lord gave you such a precious time together I wish we'd been there... It's been in our hearts to come see them one last time before they left. (My hubby had even talked about coming next weekend) They were such a comfort when we needed it most and it makes me so sad to hear we missed them.
Keeping all your brethren in our prayers.

That is such a wonderful feeling. I know I felt so good and all before I was in the Faith, being around the brethren and all, but after I came in the Faith, it was so different, and SO right. And when, a couple meetings after my baptism, a few were missing from meeting, I felt such a loss, as if part of myself weren't there! It felt that way down in P-d, too, when your family wasn't there, and Bro. Sean and Bro. Rusty, and anybody that was missing!

It was a wonderful day; and there was such a peace and Love in our home. I really enjoyed having all those brethren in my home. It was great!
