Regional Wrestling Tournament

Here is a pic of Isaiah, on top, trying to gain an advantage on his opponent.

We are a wrestling family. We do other sports, but wrestling seems to be the true love in this house. The boys have been wrestling off and on since they were in grade school, and have done relatively well in it.

So this year has been a never ending season of practices twice a day. River and Isaiah have to get up at 4am in the morning to be down to practice, EVERY morning, by 5am. They return around 7:30am or 8am. Then the boys have practice again at 3;30pm til 5:30pm, EVERY evening. I, personally, think its over the top, but as long as River can drive I'm okay with it. The negative side to it, is that it has wore the boys down alot. They are in good physical shape, but anytime a boy brings a virus to practice, all the boys end up taking it home. After all, wrestling is one of THE closest contact sports there is.

So, River and Isaiah, both survived the District Wrestling Tournament last weekend, and even placed 2nd and 3rd in their brackets at Regionals. Well, of course, Regionals is this weekend, and if they do well again, they will then continue on to State. As you can well imagine this would be a very big deal for them, and so we hope for the best. The only thing is, that both my boys are SICK. They are really under the weather. Den just called from work and said that River needed prayers because he feels like he could throw up. My poor baby!

Now, here is the real deal. EVERY SINGLE TIME we make plans to go away...no no...let's go further.....when we BOOK our hotel room, someone gets terribly sick. Not Den and I, but one of the five boys. We have been in more hotel rooms, parking lots, and inside vehicles holding plastic bags with vomiting children, than anyone I know! It seems to be a weird family curse.

So I am feeling a little nervous about tomorrow. The boys are expected to go and maybe even do decently, but this new family bug seems to be wreaking havoc on this household. So please say a little prayer for healing. I figure, like those sites that ask for one dollar from each person, and that when its all totalled up its ALOT of money, that prayers can work in the same way. Just one, bow of the head, and fervent prayer would be greatly appreciated.

So, I will talk to you after this weekend, and let you know how it all went down. I will be sure to bring my camera, and hopefully I won't be posting any puking pictures....hehehe

Oh. I hope that everything goes OK and everyone stays well. I have never really been into wrestling, but then I've never known anyone to do the sport either. I'm sure if I had 5 boys doing it, it would be my favorite too. Ya'll be careful!

I know absolutely nothing about wrestling, but I know alot of people love it. We didn't have it in my highschool growing up, so I guess I just never knew much about it. Great pic of your son! Too cool!
