Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Laughing is such a natural ability for me. I enjoy my friends who understand my humor, or at least pretend to. So the last few days, we had two families, that are very dear to us, come in and stay so that they could attend a funeral.

You prepare by purchasing a truck load of groceries to meet everyone's needs and maybe, if they're lucky, a few wants. You clean your house, change bedsheets, and get all the towels washed and smelling good. You do all this in hopes that after all the tiny details have been completed, you can move on with the business at hand, which is catching up and LAUGHING!

Each night we stayed up WAY past a parents' bedtime, making sure that everyone was decked out in pj pants and mismatched t-shirts. You put all the kids to bed, and lounge around on a big red sectional (Yes, I mentioned it again..hehehe) and talk til your hoarse. You can drink too much coffee, rub your nose like nobodies business, and they all know why! The best moments are when you can just be you, and everyone has a great time.

Good friends are when you can get up with swollen eyes, a little mascara residue sticking to your face, your hair plastered to your head, and plop down on the couch like you just don't care. Having confidence that everyone knows what you CAN look like when you actually TRY to be presentable, but on any given morning that you look like you've been through the wringer, they just don't care.

Well, that's the kind of friends we had over. It was the best! I giggled enough (as usual) that I shouldn't have to do any sit ups for a week. My stomach muscles are rock solid from all the belly laughs. I feel rejuvenated and happy that I have such great friends!

It sounds like ya'll had an awesome time. I love to have REAL friends come over and do that with. I laugh REALLY loud, so I always know that if I am laughing loud and I totally don't care who hears me, THOSE are my friends. I agree, laughter cures a LOT of things.
