I Get No Respect Around Here!

Tonight was another evening full of remodel. We had to finish our drywall by putting more wet mud on it. Simple enough, right? Well it should have been.....except we had a 14 month old who thought he needed to add his artistic touch to the wall everytime we turned around. Den would go over the mud with his blade to make sure it was smooth, only to turn back around to see small finger marks dragged across it. We were all busy, but we thought we were keeping a decent eye on the munchkin, but obviously he had another agenda for this remodel. Mom: "Roman......no no baby! No more touching the wall. Daddy's gonna have a nervous breakdown if you go back over there ONE more time, and run your chubby fingers down the mud. Okay sweetie?"
Roman: I see her lips moving and I hear alot of Yada Yada. Hmmmm.....I will just give her eye contact for awhile, than I have work to do.

Roman: Okay....I wonder if we're done here.
Mom: "So go play Roman, and stay away from that wall baby."
Roman: Alright, sooooo.....I'll give her a little more eye contact. Make her believe I'm listening and then.........

Mom: "What are you DOING? Why are you soooo obsessed with that Wall!"
Roman: Here we go again! Can't she entertain herself or what? I mean what's it gonna take to keep her happy?

Roman: I know what I'll do! I'll just roll over on this white blanket, that is disgusting, and give her the happy GA GA face and do that baby thing, where I play with my footsies. She loves THIS! Then maybe she will be on her way, and let me get back to my business at hand.

Mom: "OH NO you don't! You're not going to fool me with that innocent baby act of playing with your footsies. Boys....come get Roman and take him out of here!"
Roman: Uh Oh.....here comes one of the bubbas! I'm out of here! This family is so high maintenance! Can't a baby play in peace?!

Babies have it all figured out. They know who is the boss in the family.....and they are right. Even with big brother bullies I bet he was right back in there taking care of important business. He's beautiful.
