Jarred Is Coming, Jarred Is Coming!

All dressed up and no place to go. Mary had came up today so the kids could play together, and we could take a walk to begin getting into shape for Summer. The whole house was a bustle with excitement waiting for the kids to play with one another. She walked in the door and we let the kids do their thing, and we were beginning the final preparations for our walk when Abram announces that Jarred is sick and is going to throw up. Mary quickly heads down the hall to figure out if he really is sick or not. He complains that he just has a tummy ache, feels like he may throw up, but otherwise feels fine.

I continue to get around, hoping and thinking that maybe he just ate something and it isn't digesting well or something. The next moment goes by, and he is puking in the toilet. Poor baby! Sure enough he is sick! Well Mary and I give one another the dreaded look of motherhood, which is, "Well, see ya next year." Of course Jarred feels better, as is true after a purging of sorts, and he is now ready to play like never before. However, she reveals the dreaded information that all kids hate to hear, which is, "It's time to go home." Jarred is devastated and begins to try to help Mary understand that he is NOW ready to play. She lets him know that this isn't possible and that they must go. So she gathers up her children, who are all contentedly playing, and heads for her suburban. This is when Abram gets the news.

Abram says, "What? We just got started. He can't leave now!!" Crying begins. I explain that Jarred is sick and we will see him when they are all better, maybe even tomorrow. We wave a
disappointed goodbye to them. Then we all sit down in the living room after the short whirlwind of excitement, and Abram replies with a sigh, "Oh man, I should have just prayed for him."

Oh, that Abram is just too sweet!! How precious is that?!

I hope Jarred is feeling better...and that whatever made him sick doesn't make all of you sick.

Just speaking from experience, ya know. LOL!

Nicki: Abram does bring me joy! So funny that we were just discussing this throwing up thing at your blog. I thought of you instantly today, since I had just read your story and commented. Hoping for non-virus days shortly. I am weary with all the sickness this year!

Awww, lol! I'm sure you were thrilled to have more 'germs' floating around your home after all you've been through this winter!

And Abram....what a little sweetie! Smart boy!

Oh how sweet! I love it when the kids do stuff like that. Isn't it amazing how they just trust God so completely even with the small things. :D Just pray! :D

That is so hard when sick kids just want to play- they don't care about the germs thing. They only see the moms as the spoil sports, not the protectors of what is best for them and everyone's health. And the simple solution of your son- "I should have just prayed for him". That is so sweet. You have taught him well.

Out of the mouths of babes.

I'm a big baby when it comes to a "purging of sorts" and I remember well sitting in the bathroom bargining with God that I'd be much better at cleaning my room and obeying my mom if I'd just not purge. LOL. Hopefully, the little one continues to be well. The stomach bug has been terrible this year around here.

MotherIsland: Tommy is gonna CRACK you up, I promise!!

Steff: I remember bargaining with God too...And yes it has been vicious this year!
