It brought tears to my eyes too.

It's just a thought on my part... maybe you had to experience the unfriendly side of life to get you to the point where you would give a complete stranger a hug in the middle of a book store. And maybe that smile and hug brightened his day, giving him a renewed faith in human kindness.

I guess our unfriendly society isn't so bad after all. Maybe all it takes is a simple sweet smile to bring out the best in people.

I'm so thankful you shared your story. It makes for good bedtime reading. On that note... We just heard a wonderful talk last Sunday about getting out of your comfort zone to "Show yourself Friendly" The Brother talking testified about just talking to the other man getting his propane tank filled not that they talked about the faith, but to be a light and show the love of Christ that's in our hearts to others. Besides You never know where a friendly conversation can lead ;) I always wondered what that "Family Friendly" line meant at Fred Meyer. I guess before I thought maybe those checkers just had some extra patience with little ones?! That poor guy sounded like he has a pitiful life, I'm sure he doesn't have very many people treat him with kindness. That was very sweet of you. I know it must have been weird, but it was very nice of you. I know what you mean about society. It is getting sad... and it's not going to get better, unfortunately.Juleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05221514897029058516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21787421.post-85807277769917145562009-04-23T13:57:00.000-07:002009-04-23T13:57:00.000-07:00Human contact is wonderful.
